  • Wargames Foundry
Wargames Foundry or The Foundry for short are major exporters of 28mm historical figures. They offer an extensive range of excellent figures. They are expensive but very attractive. Yes, they are my current favorite figures. The figures have character and humor and at the same time look pretty good.
  • Valiant Enterprises
Valiant Enterprises Ltd. Valiant specializes in ships be it spaceships, triremes, or Spanish galleys but appear also to be expanding their range of wargame figures. They put out a fine product and have been around forever. Scales vary. The ship shown above is 1/1200 scale, large enough to demand some rigging from the ...
  • Superior Models
Superior Models Superior began by producing tanks, planes, and ships eventually adding a range of space craft and some highly detailed fantasy figures in both 28mm and 54mm scales. Alnavco now owns and produces the ships (they were a major distributor of the line for many years) while the fantasy line now appears to be produced by ...
  • Splintered Light Miniatures
A contingent of mice from the 28mm Hedgerows and Heroes collection from Splintered Light Miniatures. A manufacturer in Georgia of all places. Mostly fantasy figures and those primarily in 15mm/18mm. There is also a range of 15mm figures from the Dark Ages and a couple of fantasy rule sets. the figures are easy to paint ...
  • Scotia Grendel
Another English manufacturer, this one started back in 1980.  So it says on the company website. My first encounter with them was through their 1/300th scale aircraft. While they did not seem as highly detailed as GHQ’s line, they were well sculpted and offered a broader range of vehicles. My second encounter was with a package ...
  • Ral Partha
Ral Partha The number of figures produced by Ral Partha is enormous. The company started in the 70s and seemed to jump from crafting one range to another but in retrospect, their most memorable ranges were fantasy and the Battletech series of anime-type robots. The history of the company is complex though seems to have been built around the work ...
  • RAFM
RAFM A long-lived Canadian producer of historical, fantasy, and science fiction miniatures. Most of what they have made over time seems to be still available including the Traveller range once marketed by Citadel. They currently offer a wide range of figures including a range for the Call of Cthulhu RPG.
  • Perry Miniatures
Perry Brothers long associated with Games Workshop present a shift to historical miniatures. Given the experience of Games Workshop, it is not surprising to find that Perry Brothers produces both plastic and metal figures. The unforgiving nature of 2-piece molds in injection molding precludes any undercuts so the plastic figures show marginal detail along the ...
  • Perrin miniatures
Currently, in production but there does not appear to be an active website. The Lost Minis website lists them as out of production though they are still readily available through The Last Square which indicates that items are cast to order, Noble Knights, and Magister Militum which offers some of their trucks. The focus ...
  • OKB Grigorov
Some unusual 1/350 scale tanks made by OKB Grigorov, a European company specializing in 1/72 armor and 1/350 submarines. They also produced a range of 1/350 armor, mostly eastern front WWII vehicles. The items are still listed on their website though they do not appear to be for sale at the moment. ...
